The open door
Reveals
A Wandering Jew
Bathed
In artificial light.
Its trailing leaves
Touch dusty books
Like searching
Fingers,
Eager for
The knowledge
That lies
Within.
Rembrandt and Shakespeare and you, all seem to have a solid grasp of the concept of the wandering jew, in the earth and in literature, each touching the other, each weighing the same.
There is a history to this poem in that I wrote it twenty-five years ago. There is a reason why it has remained at the forefront of my memory banks - while others have just disappeared into who knows where.
I have just been itching for a 'suitable' prompt and could not believe it presented itself on Monday!

beautiful magpie.
And that knowledge is great, like your words.
Love your images and the fingers of the wandering Jew itchy to explore the books.
Another deceptively simple, yet perfect little gem.
I like this ... plants trailing over a book's edge. Nice image.
I love this, Anna. Gorgeous.

What a wonderful visual that gave me, the leaves caressing the books. Gets right to the heart, bravo!

Evocative. This made me think of so many things. Very much like reading a good book with an open heart and mind.
So much inside those bound volumes..beautifully expressed. Vb
Simply beautiful! I like that image with the (purple?) Wandering Jew touching the dusty books... great take on the prompt.

Plant life does have deep intelligence, so I'm not surprised to hear about its use of books! (lol)
