Venus de Milo with Drawers, 1936, Salvador Dali |
She viewed him as quite statuesque
as she lounged on his office desk;
he put his
hand on her knee,
but did with
such dignity,
she let
him handle the rest.
II.
She felt
herself quite disarmed
as she
fell for the spell of his charms;
his heart
seemed as big as his waist,
but much
to her distaste
she soon
realised him naught but a smarm
III.
He cleared
his throat and uttered ahem,
said madam
you want to be one of them,
the sure
way to get ahead
is to
share the warmth of my bed,
that’s the
way we do it Lib-Dem.
IV.
Ambitious
politicians are conveniently blind
of misconduct towards womankind;
they sing
silent applause
when he
puts his hand down their draws,
(Well, they’re only girlies – they won’t
mind.)
On my
break at work (last night) I was puzzling over a response to Tess’s prompt at
The Mag while reading the Sunday newspapers – oh how I love Sunday newspapers. Reading the latest media attempt to besmirch
our (pure hearted, innocent, honest as the day they were born, whiter than the
driven snow) politicians who gallantly proclaim ‘I have done nothing wrong’ (and I believe them…)… and all fell
into place.
For those
of you that are unaware of the accusation of sexual harassment, misconduct,
abuse within the LibDem Party – half of our coalition government – please read
of it here – and to know more of the background click on the links provided
there.
When will
these attacks on our wonderful governments – past and present – end. It is so unfair.
It is also so so very unfair that past and present governments are killing our NHS. You didn’t know? Yes they are! (Wonder why the media are keeping us in the dark along with the government?) To know more please visit Dr Grumble, JD, ISOwatch and Abetternhs's Blog. Read, learn and for you, your children and grandchildren’s sake – do something, please do something. For if you don’t, not so far in the future – your NHS will be of that of the Venus de Milo – something beautiful – but a relic in memory only.
Cheers me
dears – depending on your support.

What a spread!
politicans and sexual misconduct have gone together since politics began...dont know much of what is going on in yours so i will chase the links and see what is up...
Of course it has always gone on, but we're entering politics Salem-style, I think. It's a timing thing.
Where have all the good guys gone .. were there ever any?
Wow Anna! What a cool use of the prompt. Now I want to go protest something. I think I'll go watch the One Billion Rising "Break the Chains" video again.
Funny and smart and something people should take note of. Good luck with your politicians...ours on this side of the pond are just as bad if not worse. It's quite disheartening sometimes.
Nicely written! I shall have to read up with your links, as I'm in the dark of what's going on!
Spot on. Lest we forget:

Dont know much about it in my part of world... will follow the links :)
Excellent...appreciate your extra info at the end...
I guess my country is not alone in this. Sadly, I find that information anything comforting...

Love ALL of your poems! As for the politicians ...I really don't understand why they think it's ok to misbehave so horribly.
I say "Off with their heads!"
It's an International disease and a discrace.
Very good... that how we do it Lib-Dem...
Doesn't that just figure?
So, over here, most medical professionals are opposed to the idea of nationalized health care. What are the advantages for you?
All this P&P gathered together beautifully!
Cameron and his crones are the worst government ever endured. Every morning we seem to awake to yet more changes and proposal madness. He's a post-Eton twat. I'll sign the petition no probs......
Thanks for your welcome comments folks.
~T~ The NHS is ours - we pay for it through our taxes. It is there when we need it - paid for.
Although never perfect - it began to fall apart when internal markets were introduced, (some)services were contracted out to private providers, the loss of autonomy (of those in the medical profession) as (grossly overpaid) managers led hospitals towards financial ruin - medicine became a business - a business allowed to flounder by those who govern us.
Opening the NHS to increased privatisation of services - funded by the taxpayer (patients)- will be the death of it. It will become a business and not a service and shareholders must get their cut...
So, the taxpayer will eventually pay twice...and lose something very very important..
This is not a very intelligent response - sorry - mind on other things...
