We walked on water ‘til the sea reclaimed us,
anchoring us to its bed as we slept forever.
Beyond infinity a new dawn and our hearts flickered,
born again we rose to the surface and crawled upon the
shore.
Innocents waiting to be Gods…
Anna :o]
dVerse is six today! Happy Anniversary dVerse, and many thanks to
those good folk who tend the bar.
Grace ask us to write a quadrille, that is, a poem of
exactly forty-four words, including a provided word. Today’s word is FLICKER (to be used in any of
its forms). Cheers for the inspiration
Grace!

I feel this might come to the fed deserving...
Liked this a lot, Anna, a poetic dip into the seas of myth and of evolution.
This felt ominous and prophetic
I liked the sound of "infinity" and "flickered" in the same line.
This sounds the beginning of a wonderful sci-fi novel!
I've never heard of this belief. I don't know if you adhere to it or not, but it makes a fascinating story. A cross of myth and evolution as Victoria said. It's quite interesting
An ominous omen. I just like the way it reads.
This is really interesting. It's like the garden of Eden, birth of humanity moving towards enlightenment. Innocents waiting to be gods not knowing they already are :-) Very moving piece.
The ending begs for more Anna ~ Reads like a beginning for a new journey ~
Thanks for being part of our celebration.
This is beautiful and impressive, especially for a quadrille.
I love the Rise and the vastness within such small space of 44 words.
You make me want to know more!! Beautifully executed!!
This is epic! Promethean, but with water—love it!
To die, to be reborn to be gods or to see god. This would be a great poem to expand on sometime. I like the mythical feel of your words.
ha - a nice twist in this anna
Hearts flickering, souls fluttering between worlds. Nice, Anna.:-)
This has a "classical" feel to it. Love the imagery used throughout.
Agree with Bryan. The dreamy vision and the “innocents” allusion feel somewhat Blake-y. Interesting.
