Come Back

What if I stared, really stared, willed you
and you opened up your eyes and said:
Hey don’t you cry its okay its okay,
I’m not dead, I’m just sleeping.

What if I held onto you, held you tight
and begged you please to come back
and you breathed again, took hold of me,
gently loved me and kissed me, saying:
Hey, don’t worry; my heart is yours for the forever of keeping.

What if I said I’m sorry, I never ever meant to hurt you.
What if I said my words were cruel idle threats
and that I would never ever leave you?
Would you come back?

What if I said I can’t live without you,
would you doubt me?   Please don’t doubt me.
You’re all I am or ever was and I need you, need you back.
I can’t imagine living this life without you.

What if I stared, really stared
and you opened up your eyes and said:
Hey don’t you cry its okay its okay,
I’m not dead, I’m just sleeping.

Please please open your eyes,
please come back to me for
I can’t imagine my life without you...
Please please please just open your eyes.

A wonderfully emotive write

Wow! You speak for many, putting this into words. I remember burying my love after his massive heart attack 21 years ago. You could have been reading my mind, beside me witnessing. And besides that, it is a perfectly paced, perfectly placed poem of the heart.

A very moving powerful poem. It is unimaginable that anyone can survive the intolerable pain of the death of a beloved. But somehow people do.

It's as if I was talking to my daughter. You've read my mind, Anna.

Oh, this is hurting — every word, every plea is palpable in its desperation, its need and desire to be heard, to be heeded.
Is this pain beautiful? I don't know. You have put it down in these lines so tenderly, and that is all that matters. It tugs at the heart and opens old wounds.

the depths of love and despair, in loss; so crushingly evocative in this piece, the repetition reinforces the need, the longing, the undercurrent of pain .... the desperation ... and yet the heart will go on, even if fractured

Anna, this is so moving. I really felt this poem and thought about the many ways we lose people: to death, to mental illness, to dementia, to them going away from our lives..........and our longing to have them back, just the way they were. Sigh. Beautifully done.

A Poem to answer Saint Paul's "O Death, where is thy sting?" So passionate, and so filled with heartfelt longing and pathos! Heartbreakingly beautiful!

This one digs into the bits of the heart that know just how good to love and be loved feels like. The pacing works so well. I can see/feel the anxiety brought on by the what ifs changing from words to heart-ripping sobs, to loss, to desperation...

Ask the floor covering cleaning organization if there are any extraordinary guidelines that you have to trail the treatment happens. For instance, do you need to hold up a specific timeframe before returning into the room? To what extent do you need to hold up before returning the furnishings? On the off chance that you don't comprehend what you have to do, you could end up demolishing your rug.
