Pills for All Ills

Pills for All Ills

I feel like a walking prescription
Taking drugs of every description.
I take so many tablets I rattle
While fighting a continuous battle
To unsubscribe this prescribed addiction.

Body Surgery

A daft woman ran a campaign
To have her body removed from her brain,
Her surgeon complied,
She not surprisingly died –
But she’s not in the position t’complain.

Madeleine Begun Kane who blogs superbly at Mad Kane's Humor Blog  is todays inspiration at dVerse~Poets Pub  – the form is of course limericks.  My two offerings are not new – but what the heck – I thought I would post them anyway!

I think that first poem is about Rush Limbaugh, right? There's lots of it going around, I guess. My favorite is the seond though, and I think I saw her running the local Tea Party chapter!

And we enjoyed them, Anna. Thanks so for linking today. Stop back by the pub any time. There's poetry pretty much 24/7 here. You'll meet old friends and make new ones. Limericks, free verse, villanelles all welcome!

These two limericks show so much wit,
I could swear you were more than half Brit;
And a Doc in real life -
For your verses are rife
With such references pharmaceut.

Ha--well, I have a penchant for the second. I've somehow managed to keep going after this surgery however.

Modern medicine is such a game
If given pills, who’s to blame?
If someone’s got a flu
The doctor he will sue
But if he OD’s on pills it’s a shame

Clever writing, Anna. You clearly have a talent for this. Limerick as social commentary. That could be a new Op/Ed feature in the newspaper.

Thanks for visiting my limerick offering!
