Yesterday the Heath and Social Care Act came into force.
Today the NHS begins to die.
Tomorrow begins the dismantling of the NHS.
Tomorrow begins the dismantling of the NHS.
The dismantling will be subtle…
You will not notice until a procedure or service you need is
denied…

oy your health care issues sound about like ours, pushed through legislation lacking definition that leads to nothing but turmoil...far from its intentions...
politics everywhere ..

I'm not in the least surprised. I've been called a paranoid conspiracy theorist for some time and to make matters worse, I'm also old so they add senile. But it's all coming true. Wish I'd been wrong. Sorry for all of us.
I've already seen a change.... I have hearing impairment and have to have regular checks to test my hearing. I have just discovered that my local hospital's audiology department has been disbanded. Apparently if I am over 55 I have to go to a neighbouring borough of London to their hospital or if am under 55 I can go to Specsavers who won the procurement tender.
Amazing, but nothing surprises me anymore..scary..
Wow, it's the same everywhere (unfortunately). Technology gets better, service get worse, everyone loses.
This is so so sad. Seems to be happening in every country these days :(
thats so sure and everywhere...
And we all just stand by and watch the death.
I despair.
Thank you for your welcome comments folks
Addy ~ I have noticed that the waiting time for those requiring psychiatric (already being a Cinderella Service) assessment is even longer that what was once considered 'normal'...
And Friko - I despair too.

It has been a terrible week for the UK in more ways than one. But at least, the bankers are being rewarded with a tax break. Sick.
I emailed this to one of my former Political Science professors and he found it very interesting as well.
There are so few things that MUST be 'ring-fenced'. Education, defence, law and order, and most importantly; HEALTH CARE.
If the Govt outsources all services, why do we need a government?
Unfortunately you might have a point there. It's so sad to think how much thought and energy went into building something so amazing. A true social achievement.
I applied to work with the NHS about 10 years ago. In the interview, I had to give a 5 minute talk about what (as an American) I felt about the NHS. In that talk I predicted its dismantling and told why --- based on my years in Japan who had the same. I didn't get the job. No one wanted to hear that I guess.
Thank you for your comments folks.
Anthony and Cro - you are both correct.
J Cosmo - why indeed!
Sabio - The dismantling had begun then - ever so subtly... Your prophetic wisdom was your downfall methinks...
Anna :o]
Pray tell, Anna, why is my prophetic wisdom "MY" downfall, thinkest thou?
Makes the point excellently. Well done, you.
