It's All About Love

Uncomplicated: life in the slow lane.

Skin wrinkles; bones tire.

She breaks fast as the day dawns,
sips tea as the sun shines,
loves him for all time.

Summer is fading as the light in their eyes.

Content with the season,
love undiminished,
life lived as a passion,

they welcome the fall.

Kerry at Real Toads has us writing of “Uncomplicated Things” as micro poetry (ten lines or less) and above is my offering.  Cheers Kerry!

How perfect to welcome the fall, when life was complicated but love was not.

It's the gift that can only come through acceptance and humility: but O what a bourne!

I spent yesterday at someone's 50th wedding anniversary party. It was so touching just how much in love they still are and the husband in his speech even said as much that LOVE is what makes a marriage last. Lovely to see it when it works.

"What a lovely bit of fiction!" said the jaded poetess. ;-)

Love the image of aged love... it's really how it should be. Don't fear the autumn.

Ah, we wrote about the same phenomenon, Anna. Love that lasts. Beautiful!

I always welcome fall, Anna. And yes, they/we do break easily especially when we fall. This was very enjoyable reading, we fit in well.

Lovely.. My husband and I will celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary this month. Your poem grounds me in the blessings of growing old with the one you love.
