The moon a waxing
gibbous she,
illuminates this
hallowed ground neath
silhouettes’ of swaying trees,
silhouettes’ of swaying trees,
and in this graveyard
here stand I
and drool as little kids pass by
and know this night I
will not gorge upon the dead,
but indecent feasts
of kids instead.

Poetics tonight and of course we are to write of monsters! The twist is that we should give voice to
said monsters, and above is my offering.
Cheers for the inspiration Björn!
(Also shared with the
good folk at Real Toads – cheers Magaly.)
Oh dear, I seem to
have a bone stuck between my teeth…kids! :o]

Macabre, with tongue in cheek, with severed hands in mouth, with fear for an appetizer and danger as a companion.
Dark and spooky for Halloween.
Terrifying... and a treat for you... trick is on those kids.
They have not knocked on my door yet :-)
Children are definitely tastier-especially their legs😱😱
This is funny.
Loves them liddle kiddies,
they's my favorite meats.
tiny little noses,
crunchy liddle feets.
spine chilling, kids better stay at home!!!
Trick or treat!!!
I can see children probably make a pleasant change :)
This is wonderfully spooky!!
I love the gibbous waxing moon but the child-eater is so nasty!
Eeek! I like the Goreyesque gleefully macabre tone.
I'm laughing so hard at Jane's comment, that I can hardly type. Mostly, because I was thinking along the same lines, and I always believe that I will be the sickest of them all.
Freaking creepy.
a fitting tribute to that overlooked undead!
Yikes!!! Child eating monsters!! Happy Halloween!
Love it! A classic.
It has the knowledge of these feasts as indecent, though :) Oh so cleverly put.
Yikes! Glad I'm reading this in the morning. I *love* that first line and the placement of "she" :)
Gives kids meal a whole new meaning
