Creative writing has been part of me since I can’t remember when, but definitely early childhood. I love putting my thoughts to pen then paper and marvel at the process, wonder how my thoughts turn into the ink of the written word.
I would go to work with the
adventure of a poetry prompt in my head, my trusty cheap notebook and my black
pen - the pen had to be black with an extra-fine point. My notebook and pen would be left in the
office and as words appeared mysteriously in my mind, I would return as soon as
possible to write them down, to savour them.
Sometimes, when work would not allow me to return, I would scribble them
down on scraps of paper. Once home, I
made my words poetry.
But things change, real life
changes and gets in the way, and I lost my creativity or lost the inspiration
the desire to pursue it. I desperately
want to recapture it, and now and again I might find it, but for the most part,
it remains elusive…
Snow leaves its blank page,
nature writing in footprints:
look, see, I was here.

Kim at dVerse has us writing of communication
through pen, or pencil, and paper. I
desperately tried to ignore this prompt, but inspired, I could not fight
it. So thanks Kim, your prompt has
perhaps began to heal the wound.

May your desire and inspiration return, and may you again find the joy in capturing thoughts and feelings in words!
It seems to me you have the creativity! The haiku is lovely. Maybe use your keyboard instead of a pen nd paper. I haven't written down poetry in years, using my keyboard as it is quicker and keeps up with my thoughts. But Anna, you still have the creativity. Even if you feel you haven't.
Anna, this haiku is so perfect for your story--beautiful. I love the process of writing those snippets as they come into my head. You've prompted me to start carrying those little note pads again. A favorite used to be when I was walking the dogs, in nature. Imagine writing with 2 little critters tugging at their leashes. Pretty messy.
A wonderful post. Love the haiku. It says what writing is all about. To let others know we are here!! Wonderful!!

Love how we’ve had the same thought about snow and paper... today I have my phone as a notebook writing little notes whenever I feel inspired.
I'm so glad you didn't ignore the prompt, Anna, and that your wound heals very soon.
I think the love of creative writing and thoughts turning into the ink of the written word is what brings us all to dVerse and other similar websites, so we understand the joy of words on scraps of paper and the pain when we lose it for one reason or another. Prompts are useful for feeding the muse. And I love the snowy footprint haiku!
May I suggest, Anna, another orientation than the cryptic, and another ID than your present profile image on Google. It is exhausting to possess, something. Boxer. Trust Jesus wants you to be his daughter, and to show it. And engrave in stone.
I'm so delighted your creativity has melted through blankness of the snow, to bloom words you can share with us. Wonderful!
I like the nature writing in the snow. I also prefer a fine-point black pen with an inexpensive notebook.
Inspiration takes a break once in a while but returns with strength, I know it will for you too. your haiku speaks strongly of your desire to be heard through your written word. a fine point black pen makes soft impressions on a blank sheet and like that you will make a mark too.
Brilliant. I love the detail of the fine nib pen. Struck a chord.Notebooks are always good to have around. They were made for scribbles ;)
