Like some
Old vehicle mired in mud
We stand
Wallowing waist high
In old spent emotions,
Can't let go, can't move on,
We share
The mistaken senseless notion
That if we try hard enough
Love expired can be recaptured.

By our new beginning
We will rise
Above the quagmire
Of extinguished love,
Distinguished by our fight
For rejoined hearts,
Set apart from mere mortals
We shall take on angelic form,
Love excelling.

Yet angels
Cannot enter here
Where two lives self destruct
In faint hope of loves resurrection,
Tensions released
We should drown
Like some tragic dying swan,
Yet we will not relent,
Will not let go, will not move on.

With thanks to Tess at Magpie Tales for the inspiration.

Moving on ... it's so hard to do. You have described the emotions well.

Thanks for the tip-off on my blog. Not sure why that happened, other than that I had not signed out, but have done that before, but then nobodyhas warned me before, so maybe that WAS the reason. Thank you again.

Hi Addy

Don't think it is anything you have done. The problem now exists (including this blog if I visit from elsewhere)on all Blogger blogs I visit bar one.

I have reported the issue to blogger - for all the good this will do - as it is a potential security issue for all bloggers.

Fingers crossed that no idiot takes advantage of the situation.

I've been coming to read this poem several times, each time it has moved me so much I didn't want to comment - yes, i know that's strange - but, in case you think I am not responding, here I am.

The 'recaptured/enraptured' transition was particularly poignant, so true.

i love the direction you took from the photograph ~ where once was strong love is it not worth trying to hold onto it? this is a beautiful poem, Anna!
