Leaving

You whisper softly,
I shush your lips,
Brush your frown
Into a smile,
Beg you not to leave
“Please stay a while?”

You slowly raise your hand,
Fingers caress my cheek,
Eyes plead with me
To let you speak

I love you forever”
You say as you drift away,
I plead with you,
Beg you to stay.

My love, my love
I will always grieve thee
And if you truly loved me
Why did you leave me?

So very sad ~ if she could have, she would have stayed, I'm sure ~ as your love was profound ~

Oh so sad and touching... the ending could be the chorus in a song.

Of course, this reminded me of the feelings one has when a loved one died--what you may have meant--though it can be much wider.

Thank you for your kind comments folks.

manicddaily ~ yes, it was about death (which always comes too soon for the observer (who loves - as in friendship)), the passing of man I had great feelings for.

It's kinda of common this to happen... but not so common to find beautiful ways to express the feeling.
Just beautiful!

Thank you for your kind comments folks - unable to write this sooner as PC problems and now working on borrowed laptop.
